There are 2 themes for this tournament. One is that everyone has a chance to be tournament champion and win the $1500. The other is that everyone may pitch all three days, as follows:
Friday evening at 6 PM - Walking doubles - max of 56 pitchers. $10 entry fee. Teams will be chosen based on high with low average.
Saturday - regular class play - mostly scratch.
Sunday - Championship class will consist of winners of Saturday's classes - Will start at 8 AM. There will also be a second round robin handicapped class tournament. Entry fee of $15 - Mostly 8 person classes. Start time 8:30 AM. Should be done by Noon.
NOTE: If we fail to get 125 people to pitch on Saturday, the TD reserves the right to reduce Sunday's Championship pay out.

Check In: Please check in at the Pavilion at least 45 minutes before your scheduled pitching time. Bring your sanction card with you.
Method of Play - cancellation
40 shoe games
Standard pitch, i.e. person who scores last, pitches first.
Championship Round (handicapped) - Each person to pitch 2 frames alternately
All classes will pitch a round robin event, winner determined by the win/loss record.
Ties - Game - 2 inning (4 shoes per pitcher) tie-breaker. Repeat until tie is broken.
Class - 20 shoe playoff game for first
3 way tie - 2nd and third high ringer percentage will play first 20 shoe playoff, winner will play high % pitcher.
4 way tie - 1st and 4th ringer % will play 20 shoe game, 2nd and 3rd ringer % will play 20 shoe game. Winners of
these games play for 1st and 2nd. Losers of first games play for 3rd place.
5 way tie - (Let's not have any of these) - High ringer pitcher gets bye. 2nd & 5th % play and 3rd & 4th play.
Winners of these 2 games will play 20 shoe round robin with pitcher who got the bye. If 2 still tied another 20 playoff game.
6 way tie - 1st and 2nd % pitchers get bye. Remaining pitchers as per 4 way. Then 2 winnera and 2 bye
pitchers as per 4 way tie.
Ties in remaining places will be determined by ringer percentage
Each entrant must have a valid NATSTAT average with at least 3 tournaments.
Entries close on 30 May 2008. NATSTAT averages will be taken on 30 May 2008 and will determine Class positions. Tournaments not posted on NATSTATS by 30 May 2008 will not be used.
All prizes will be paid by check drawn from the Crossville Horseshoe Club account at First Bank in Crossville.
Classes will be mixed 30' & 40'. If a class has more than a 10% variation in averages, it will be handicapped.
Most classes will be 8 person. There may be some 9 or 7 person classes. The 7 person class would pitch at the Cumberland Co Fair Ground Courts. The TD reserves the right to add pitchers to classes at the start of pitching if someone fails to show for a class.
Juniors will be mixed in classes based on their percentages, with no more than one junior per class. If a junior wins a class, he/she will be awarded the class plaque. Classes with a junior will still have the same monetary prizes - will just skip the junior. For example, if a junior wins, second place will be awarded $100, etc..
Everyone will pitch in 7 or 8 person classes on the first 2 days (Fri or Sat) with payout as follows:
8 Person class - 1st place - $100, 2nd - $60 and 3rd - $30.
7 person class - 1st Place - $80, 2nd - $40 and 3rd - $25.
Pitching all day on Friday(1 Jun) - 8AM, 12 noon and 4 PM with similar schedule on Sat (2 Jun). This will allow for 330 people to pitch. All games 40 shoe games. These classes on Friday and Saturday will not be handicapped unless the 10% rule occurs.
Championship Sunday: Championship Class: 8 AM start time
Handicap Championship - will include all class winners including Juniors. Depending on number of classes, will pitch 7 or 8 person round robin with winners moving on to another round robin. 40 shoe games and 83% handicap (points for difference in averages pitched in the initial round robin). If first place winner choses not to pitch, second place finisher will be allowed to take his/her place.
Payout for the Championship class as follows:
1st - $1500
2nd - $750
3rd - $375
4th - $100
There will be an additional $30 per person entry fee for anyone pitching on Sunday.
A 3 tournament NATSTAT average is required to enter.
PITCHING TIMES: For those pitchers with email addresses, they will be notified of their pitching times by email. Pitching times will also be posted on this web site. A post card will be sent with pitching times to those pitchers without email.
In the event of rain and a class is unable to pitch, the entry fee will be refunded. However, we will try to move affected classes to the Pavilion and pitch thru the night (Friday or Sat). If the Friday night outdoor courts are rained on, they will pitch at about 10 PM in the Pavilion.

Scorekeepers - will be paid $1 per pitcher per game by the pitchers.
